What is @TimeUrdu and who is behind it?
TimeUrdu is basically an educational and research based social networking platform where anyone can learn Urdu vocabularies, Grammar, Pronunciations, Idioms and Proverbs. We are biggest source of Urdu words etymology in cyber world also bringing some unusual translation stuff in limelight. TimeUrdu blogs and literature are quite popular among digital readers due to original, fresh and rare content. The master who is controlling all the strings of #TimeUrdu project is Mr. Zubair Siddiq. When did you start @TimeUrdu on Twitter?
Well precisely speaking, I started TimeUrdu project on 28-March-2012.

What’s your inspiration behind it?
My only inspiration was to provide some vital ingredients and hope to a language that is dying and evaporating. As Faraz Ahmed says: Shikwa-e-zulmat-e-shab se to kahin behtar tha // Apne hisse ki koi shama jalate jaate

What’s the response of Urdu lovers on Twitter?
I found great and pretty welcoming response from tweeple (Urdu lovers), in fact legend like Sir Javed Akhtar (Poet/lyricist) following the project.

How many queries in week usually you get regarding Urdu on Twitter?
Honestly saying itni ziada tadaad mai Urdu queries milti hain kay kabhi kabhi mai pareshan hojata hun, How to respond them all.

Do you have a database of Urdu words or its all in your brain?
I have a large number of Urdu words database in my brain but also take help from authentic lughat and internet in time of need.

Do you get paid for this project?
No, I do not get any single penny from this project. What I get is beyond money, the ultimate soul satisfaction.

What do you think is the future of Urdu on social media?
I am clearly seeing the bright future of Urdu language. In near future we will have runtime input through stylus pen on popular social networking websites so it will help a lot joint writing scripts. Urdu is the amalgamation and cocktail of many loan words so it’s a perfect choice for global communication especially on social media.
