Niantic has announced that they are partnering with Warner Bros. to release Harry Potter: Wizards United, an augmented reality game based on Harry Potter. While the details regarding the game are murky, we can still make a few educated guesses.
This is not the first time Niantic is taking a series and converting it into a game; they had their first massive success when they released Pokemon Go. The official press statement from Niantic said that players will be able to learn spells, roam around their neighborhoods and beyond to fight beasts and team together with other wizards and witches to defeat bigger enemies.
Since the announcement was made, the internet has been set ablaze. Potterheads and gaming fans alike are extremely excited about this game. The game is set to release sometime in 2018 but people are already incredibly excited.
Harry Potter: Wizards Unite presents a unique opportunity for players to interact with the series in real life. The entire world is the game board! Potterheads will have the option of choosing to fight battles alongside other fans thus it won’t be out of the realm of possibilities that a lot of friendships may arise because of this game!
Other than that, Niantic has had plenty of experience in making augmented reality games especially for phones. Because of Pokemon Go’s popularity, they even know how to cater to a big user base.
Initially people faced a lot of bugs in Pokemon Go but the company fixed these issues as they went along. They have clearly learnt lessons in what to do and what not to do so it’s pretty much safe to say that Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will be a better gaming experience since Niantic will have worked most of the bugs out and will be expecting a large user base right off the bat!
Thus gamers can get ready to experience a better quality augmented reality gaming experience. This game will help Potterheads live out their wildest dreams of using their magical powers to make things happen.
