Aesa Bhi Hai Pakistan

In this day and age, patriotism is on a rise among Pakistanis. The citizens, especially the youth, are seen having a sense of pride and are encouraged to promote their nation through many different activities.

Just today I came across an event “Aesa Bhi Hai Pakistan”. The name caught my interest! What are they referring to? What is it all about? When searching in detail I felt I was left out of an activity that was being conducted since the last 2 years and if I had not stumble upon it, I would have missed out on it again.

So what is “Aesa bhi hai Pakistan”!! It’s a photo contest and exhibition supported by Jubilee Life, which is now a sequel to the ones that were successfully held in 2011 and 2012. Both the previous events, were graced by the renowned literary maestro Javed Jabbar, and hailed by participants, spectators and media for its efforts for trying to highlight the positive image of Pakistan.

Aesa Bhi Hai Pakistan Photo Contest

The theme for this year’s photo contest is revolving around showcasing the unique sights of Pakistan in two broad categories namely Tourism and People & Culture through photographs taken by young, aspiring photographers.

To be part of something so fascinating is not tedious either. All you have to do is take relevant photograph and e-mail it to Unique Pakistan. The entries will be judged by a panel of experts and the top three winners in each category will be given cash rewards. Finally, what I found most valuable was that six winners from both categories will be given the chance to work on projects with the jury members, namely Mehreen Jabbar, Hanif Bhatti, Ghulam Rusool, Yasir Nisar and Tariq AK who are the top names in the field of photography and film making.

I see ‘Unique Pakistan’as a group of passionate individuals who have joined hands and indulged in the pursuit of changing Pakistan’s perception in the eyes of the world. Along with them ‘Tangerine Media’ also believes in the cause and feels that our talent and youthful energies need to be harnessed in the right direction.

More of such positive activities should be promoted that encourages our youth to express their talent. This will both boost the arts and culture industry and give a greater chance to the individuals who are present and struggling to strive in this field.
